I saw the title and.....well, lets just say, my mind should find the way out of the gutter.

Anyways, DAMN, that is real quick. You would be dead before you knew what happened.

he siad he's shooting blanks...meaning no recoil, and it's like shooting a shotgun, so that's why he doesn't have to aim at the balloons, just get SOME fragment of the wax to puncture it....

He was shooting blanks, and then switched to actual bullets. No doubt he is shooting target loads to reduce the recoil.

It's a technique called fanning, whereby you simultaneously cock and fire a single-action revolver. Notice that one of his hands is gloved and the other isn't. The right hand draws the revolver straight back out of the holster while the left hand's index and middle finger are spaced to contact the hammer in series. Then he holds the trigger while bringing his hands back together, and tilts the gun down to reenter the holster as he fires the last shot.

It's one of those "a minute to learn, a lifetime to master" skills, and Bob Munden is one of the best pistol shooters out there. I'm sure someone can find the shot where he split a coin, on edge, in the air.
