my girl sets the thermostat to

64 degrees F in the winter time in Dallas while it's in the 30's or 40's outside.
80 degrees F in the Summer time in Dallas while it's in the 80's, 90's, or 100's outside.

The above plus side is that our energy bill will be on the low side, though, that's not why she does it. She does it because in the winter time, she gets too hot at night while she's sleeping if the thermostat is any higher and she does it because in the summer time, she gets too cold at night while she's sleeping if the thermostat is any lower.

    What am I to do

I'd buy her a fan for the winter and a space heater for the summer. I have the same problem in Winter when my parents like to keep the heat on all the time because they get cold. A fan works for me and I use to have an air conditioner that I used in our old house when they would turn the heat up to about 75 or 80. My room was like a freezer 365 days a year :9

I don't know about the cold thing, but isn't there something you're supposed to be able to do to keep her warm? Just sayin'

A tall glass of ice water. Have her drink it in the winter and poor it on her in the summer.

Get a programmable thermostat. We have one and it's a life-saver. In the summer, when we are home it's set at 78. When we aren't it's at 85. At night we drop it down to 75 degrees. In the winter, when we are home it's set to 72. When we aren't it's at 65. At night we drop it down to 65 degrees. You could adjust that to fit your need. I prefer it cooler at night. To compensate my wife has an electric bed pad that she can adjust that to her likings.

    Ice cubes can be sensual.

Added benefits but then you get the heat back.

heh. My wife and I go through this too. I'm one of your typical "walking male furnace" types, so I overheat REAL easy. The wifey, however, could be cold in 85°F weather! It's a wonder to me she's lived this long in the Chicago area and hasn't frozen to death yet. :P

I tend to keep the theromstat low in the winter so any resident heat made from the computers in the den is combined with whatever I throw off naturally, which is enough to keep her warm. Otherwise, I get smothered in blankets and comforters and I sleep for shit and wake up in a pile of sweat.

sounds like what me and my wife go through... Except I'm the one with it at 80 in the summer and 70 in the winter.
