    Bravo,

I am affraid I have to disagree with your selection of Pearl Harbor. That movie was a waste of time and money. All it was, was an update of Tora, Tora, Tora with some gratuitous love story that I feel detracted from the larger picture and event.

As for Black Hawk Down; Walker is correct in stating that BHD is based on true events. I have seen several documentaries as well as actually reading BHD and it is one of the more accurate portrayals of what occurred in Somalia. This movie showed the people of the US WHY we were there, and with some reasoning you can understand WHY we currently have the problems with pirates off of Somalia.

Saving Private Ryan was a decent movie and REALLY showed what it was like to storm Omaha beach. Even then, the timing is not quite accurate. See the Longest Day for a more accurate time line of when the soldiers on Omaha ACTUALLY broke through. It had some great battle scenes but they were mostly fictitious.

That is why BHD will always be better than Saving Private Ryan. One was based in fact, the other fiction.

Very true, Pearl Harbor was easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen, ever.

But I'll have to disagree with this, like I said before I see BHD as just a straight shooting action thriller that easily captures peoples attentions with the guns blazing and shells exploding every second. Maybe I see SPR as being better because it was based during WWII which was a very emotional and patriotic war. The incident in Somalia doesn't really compare or fall in the same category at all.

I have seen them all and this one is by far my favorite movie out of all categories.
