I would bet dollars to donuts that Daschle paid the standard late tax penalty.

The bigger issue is whether his understated taxes are an innocent error or fraud. If it's fraud then he's out of the tax laws and into the criminal laws.

hehe. The IRS lists examples of busts they've made. Lot's of big shooter wannabe's on that list. Maybe Daschle will show up on it one day. We won't know if an investigation is ongoing until after the FBI breaks down the first door.
