Thread: You get blamed for things you didn't even do...

This didn't happen to me, but to a friend i have. I only know this friend Via another site i go to (Gaia online, if you must know), and therefore only ever get to talk to her on that site. Before you even start, i don't care if Ive never met her, shes still my friend.

Her parents are blaming her for something that's not working on the family computer. She doesn't even know whats not working, Only that her parents blame her for whatever it is that isn't. Her parents, therefore, told her That she is never allowed on the computer ever again. Therefore, she can only get on at the library, or at school, at certain times, for 45 minutes only each, And none of these times i will be able to be on to talk to her. This makes me pretty angry at her parents, As its unfair to punish her for something that she didn't do. I offered my assistance, both in fixing the problem (Which, depending on what the problem is, could turn to the assistance of TTP itself, in the form of a Tech support Question), And i told her about Setting up Profiles, one for herself, and one for her parents. I hope my suggestion About the profiles will clear this Problem up, But it still makes me mad that shes getting blamed for something she didn't do.

This is just something I needed to let out, and thank god For TTP that There is a special little Forum for these kinds of things.

If she doesnt know whats wrong, and she doesnt know whats not working, then how could she have done it?

If she messed with a program of theirs, And its that program thats not working, then She might have messed it up when she was messing around with it.

But, since she doesnt Even know whats wrong, and whats not working, how could she have done it. The only thing she uses the computer for is

1.internet
2.School work.

From what i got from what she told me, It was one of the more important programs that was messed up. Hopefully she can tell me whats wrong with it tommorrow (Im assuming that shes gonna leave me a PM about it, or something) And maybe i can get some help to fix it. If not, i hope she talks to her parents about the profile thing i told her about, as im sure that will clear up any problems they might be having with her 'Messing with their stuff'

The whole Point behind this is that her parents are punishing her, And they wont tell her why. Basically what they said "The computers not working right, you cant use it ever again." They arent giving any good reason to do what they are doing.

Thats why i suggested the Seperate profiles thing. That way, she has her own Profile, and therefore cant be blamed for their programs messing up. Her parents could even password it if they wanted to.

So, it turns out it wasnt her after all. It was her father That messed it up. They got it all fixed, and they found it it was her father, and they still wont let her back on! That ticks me off even more!

thats what happened for me anytime the computer got screwed up. which pissed me off because i was the one who ran all sorts of security programs, made sure sites i went to were safe etc. and i'm the one who messed it up? i mean it couldn't have anything to do with those forwards you open at all .

tell her to tell her dad that hes not allowed on the computer. since he messes up programs.

probably won't let her because they want to win, and thus its a win-lose situation because the parents don't want to admit they are wrong because they want to be right, even though they aren't

God, i hope they let her back on within a week or so. If not, Then her parents are the most childish People i have ever Known. I offered her my old computer, Seeing as all its doing is sitting in the Basement, collecting dust, but im pretty sure she wont accept it.
