Man, I really hate it when...
You're in a game, playing along having a good time, your side is winning, and you forget to reset your spawn point and pop up all the way back at the base, I hate that... and I hate it even more when an enemy player is sitting on the base spawn point and you get killed before you can move, I hate it when that happens... and what I really hate, is when you pass this information to your squad as a warning; because you don't want others to suffer a similar fate; and the response from the SL is "Who gives a F*CK, get out of the base!" and other choice comments passed thru an open mic about other players, and so went the game.
We won incidentally.
It's a shame that some people cannot control their anxiety or their vocabulary towards other people in a GAME!! Too bad we; the collective we; cannot toss Rose petals in the path of this individual so as to make HIS game more pleasant, because he obviously cares so much about his contribution to the quality of gameplay the rest of us must endure from his rude and inconsiderate behaviour.
I suppose I can understand his need to make comment on my statement, after all, it was just a fair warning, directed to the entire squad. Everyone else chose to listen and either ignore or accept it in quiet fashion. So it was incumbent on him to blow off his foul mouth and make sure I was sufficiently berated for my transgression.
I am no aural virgin, I've heard and have said much much worse in my lifetime, but I just cannot justify this attitude that somehow, being an SL gives you the right to throw a smart ass comment.
And why not speak up in the game when someone trash talks to you? fair question... I submit that for an unaffiliated player such as myself, not being part of the GOBN (Good Ole Boy's Network, a term many from Texas should know already) and speaking out against the established "Regs" is a sure way to get the boot. Then it's blah blah you said this, blah blah you did that and in the end nobody wins, except the abuser who will endeavor to make your game play a living hell, no matter which side your on.
As anyone can tell by now, I have given this subject a lot of careful consideration (something my subject player should try once in a while) and at first I was reluctant to bring it up, but over the course of the past weekend I was squadded with this individual several times; his name is insignificant, he certainly will not value my comments enough to gain wisdom from them; and he seems to make a habit of sarcastic, rude and profane treatment of those he does not know, and/or, are not part of his clique'.
I'm not sure how long someone has to play in a game with the same people or groups of people before the concept of respect enters into the picture. I've been playing for some time now, and I play the game, for better or worse. I don't give anyone a hassle or an attitude, as any of you who do know me can attest. So I do not believe it is reasonable to expect me or anyone else to be required to tolerate an intolerable attitude.
If I make a mistake I acknowledge that mistake, but in this matter I do not believe I am mistaken, I'm not asking or expecting a "Please and Thank You" with every command, and I do not believe it is required from anyone to run their mouth in a derogatory fashion at teammates for everything they say or do. We all play the GAME for entertainment, it's not a second job, and personally I don't need another pain in the ass boss screaming profanities at me when he gets stressed.
Okay, I feel I've gotten this chip off my shoulder... have a great day!

Come on over to Battlefield, we never scream.
Except Xav...
I'd also say avoid joining the squad of that said individual. If they join your squad and want to cause problems, Boot them. Problem Solved, except for maybe them crying about you in chat and/or talking trash behind your back. If in Theory you think you'll get booted or banned for someone kicking you over them causing a disruption. I believe you have an Admin abuse case right there.
But seriously, Come to BF2 and quit dreaming about the future.
