not really.

point-blank tasers, and ranged pepper spray have been on the market for years -- both of them.

Taser International has had the C2 out on the market for a few years now...it's a taser just like the one the police use, made by the same company, but it looks different and is shaped differently to make it easier to put in a purse or whatever.


The main difference now? after you use it, if the guy is doped up or something, you can drop the gun and run without worry of him jumping up, and coming at you just like he was before -- just more pissed.


Frankly, if somebody want's personal defense, but doesn't want to carry a gun, I say this is a fine alternative.

Anybody sensitive to tasers (pacemaker or whatever) shouldn't be putting themselves in a situation to get tased.....and if they are, but didn't deserve it, then the tasee is charged with assault/attempted murder or w/e.
