My Credit card was duplicated
I know how it's done, I've seen those shows where they explain it. Somewhere, somehow, somebody duplicated my card. After doing so, they went on a charging spree at several gas stations on Sunday. My credit card company froze the card immediately. It declined when I tried to use it. I called them. They said they froze due to suspicious charges, I was like, "okay?", they asked if I was at a gas station earlier that day, I was like, "uh, yea." Then they were like "okay sir, I'm reinstating your card." I call today to dispute 11 different charges on Sunday. I couldn't dispute earlier because Discover doesn't show pending charges that far back. Anyhow, I call today and they were like, "but sir, we spoke to you on Sunday and you said the charges were valid, now the're not?" I was like, "yea, I was at a gas station that day, but not 12 freaking times, there are 11 gas station charges, somebody failed to mention that there were 11 of them."
I know I will be taken care of and credited eventually, but somewhere out there, some guy has at least 950 dollars in gift cards or something just from Sunday alone. Discover said there were more on Monday. I haven't seen those yet. Boy would I like to get my hands on that guy.

I was doing my weekly checks of my bank accounts one day and saw that I had $1000 missing from one account.
Turns out, a card reader grabbed my card and pin and tried to clean me out. Thankfully I noticed this within the same day and thankfully I have a 1000 dollar daily withrawal limit put on.
The bank was cool about investigating it and giving me my money back, so as long as I could prove I'm not BSing them. Within 3 days, I got my cash back.
It was a good learning experience.

I always recommend that people have 2 checking accounts, one for online, one for carry.
Makes it easier to figure out where you got scammed.
Also, have 2 online persona's/accounts. One for throwaway generic stuff like forums and whatnot, another for all secure transactions. AND USE DIFFERENT PASSWORDS!

I went to eat for valentines and got drinks at the bar... twice while waiting then paid for the meal. Plus I bought L4D online and then bought a movie at the video store and got gas. Fraud alert called me sunday checking to see if all that was mine. Didnt total over $150 or so it was just a number of transactions in less than half a day.
