Re: Any of you Geeks ride MX?
DO IT, YOU GET ONE TOO.
EVS has one that is only 140$, and it works well. Leatt (pronounced Leh-Ot) offers 3 models ranging from 600$ - 199$. The 199 Adventure brace from Leatt is the best buy but the EVS is pretty sweet too.
Most professional racers suffer neck injuries in 3rd gear. You do no have to go fast to break your neck, and it only takes once.

Freestyle is very appealing. Nice photos. I don't have the bike for it, nor the youthful body for it. I do love airtime. I get too high on my bike and the landing is none to forgiving.
Gonzo, you're right about the Leat Braces, race collars, everyone should wear one. Damn things are pricey though. The EVS is probably the way I'll go. I could go Bionic for $600. Yikes. The argument of course is: How much to you value walking, and having your neck in tact? They need to keep coming down in price, which they are. More and more people will have em.

Freestyle's definitely not for the feint hearted...
Five broken ribs, punctured lung, two chest tubes, lung rebuild surgery, broken ankle. $75k hospital visit that time.
Of course, it's all about the recovery process. A week later...
Everything I know, I learned from my brother. 8)
