So you think you're hot shit?
Tired of people accusing you of being a "fucktard," or perhaps "flame bait," and want to rid yourself of these titles? In need of demonstrating your metal prowess by destroying that of others? Well, pull up a chair mother fucker, because you've come to the right spot.
Some would call this "Flame Wars." It's an apt, albeit over-used term, for describing this place. But, strangely enough, it's just a tad more civilized (although civility is not encouraged). The premise is simple: two members will battle it out over a particular topic (say, AzH's classic "9/11 Was Deserved"). One will make an argument and defend it, the other will attack it (and its creator).
After a certain number of posts have been made (which will vary based upon the progression of the "battles," if you want to call them that), the thread will be closed, and a group of "judges" (admins, staffers, and perhaps a member or two) will determine who did the better job of smashing their opponent, and thus who wins. The winner will receive a prize (rep points, a special banner/avatar/sig, or something else that we may come up with in the future). We may even start entire "tournaments," with a ladder and such.
There will be two kinds of threads in this forum: Staff-created topics, and Challenges. The staff-created threads will have a staff member compose the thread topic. The first person to post a reply will take a certain stance on the thread, and the second (and last) person would go on the attack against the first. In this case, we've taken half the work and done it for you: now all that's left for you to do is win.
Challenge threads will be member-created. Some forums call these "call-outs," and indeed it is an appropriate term. You can challenge another member to a duel, either by attacking that member directly, or by creating a topic and then challenging that member to attack it.
I think that about covers it. Any questions, just ask.
Now get the fuck out.
