I've never played them, but my friend keeps recommending I buy the Prince of Persia Sands of Time Trilogy. He's a big fan, and its three(semi-old, given) games for twenty bucks...

If you like stealth action games, i believe the Hitman Trilogy is only like 20-30 dollars, and you get 3 very good games (SA being fun but challenging and the longest, Contracts is uber awesomness omg, and Blood Money is short, but fun, but a little too easy)

Civ 4 isnt a RTS.......

Its whats known as a TBS(Turn Based Strategy) and is so much different than a RTS.

though if he doesn't like resource gathering, i doubt he'd like civ IV considering how much goes into it compared to your run of the mill TBS or RTS
