Physics Gurus out there...I need help.
OK so here's the problem:
A charged particle leaves the origin with a speed of 3.00×106 m/s at an angle of 36.9° above the x axis. A uniform electric field, given by E = -E0j, exists throughout the region. Find E0 such that the particle will cross the x axis at x = 1.45 cm if the particle is an electron.
So i figured out this part using laws of motion and what not: F=5.43*10^-6 N; a=5.96*10^14 m/s^2; and E=3393.75 N/C.
Heres the bitch part, second part of the problem is so that the particle is a proton, and the distance is the same as is what you are solving for E0. What I have is that F=9.95*10^-13 N, but when I use the equation E=F/q, i keep getting the wrong answer, needless to say this very aggravating right now.
Help anyone

I think kraker is asleep, so I'll go ahead and post this for him: the answer is 7

Re: Physics Gurus out there...I need help.
So I feel like a retard right now. After trying to figure out what I was doing wrong for the past 20 minutes, I checked my work and found my mistake. I was using 1.16*10^-19 C as the charge of the proton and NOT 1.6*10^-19 C like i was supposed to.....good news the homework is done, but I feel like a moron right now.
Please disregard. But I know you guys are going to have fun with this.

ahh yes it is important to get the correct number of coulombs BIG difference between 1.16*10^-19 and 1.6*10^-19
