Re: TTP music lessons with Flea-beta(interested?)
I like your 'learn a song' drills, are you gonna have the student learn a 'song' or an etude that will better them as a musician more than stairway to heaven? I'm throwing this out there because most etudes will challenge a musician to learn them and then become more flexible on their instrument. Whats also great about a good etude is they get a newer student more able to understand how a scale builds a musical piece.

Thanks for the comments guys!
Anyone who has something to contribute to music discussion is free to usurp my "authority" and post lessons or anything else they think is credible and useful to the TTP music community.
etudes vs. songs - I like the idea of using etudes instead of songs, but not for the competition pieces. For those unfamiliar with etudes, think yankee doodle went to town, applied to a major scale.
I'm hoping to do these lessons once a week time and school permitting. I'm thinking we may need a music subforum to keep all the discussion and activity somewhat organized? We'll need to discuss everything from amp settings, to live performance, recording studio, guitar maintenance etc...
Anyway, here's some rocking tunes to keep you busy till I can get the lessons up. Jason, these are for you bro
25 essential metal licks
they're in gp5 format and I still haven't reinstalled it, I'll get things rolling as soon as I can guys.

LOL, yankee doodle + scales... That made me laugh really hard.
Here's a guitar etude example.
