Thread: Mistaken Identity

So I get this call

"Get your shit program out of my computer it is invasive and has taken over my computer I do not want this program on my computer you are a scam you fuck"

"Whats the name of the program"

"Antivirus XP pro 2009"

"not our program"

"what?"

"Thats not our company, thats not our program"

"Your lying if its not your company why does it have your phone number"

"are you asking me why a random scam company on the internet is giving out random phone numbers?"

"yes"

"your guess is as good as mine"

"well im reporting your company to the BBB"

"your reporting our company to the BBB because another company has infected your computer?"

"yes"

"ok, is there anything else I can help you with today?"

/hang up


at first i was like wtf... but towards the end I just found it funny.

The calls you get are full of awesome.

I take this person is too stupid to realize that is not even a legit program and doesn't know how to use Google?

I typed in Antivirus XP pro 2009 and came up with hundreds of hits saying it is not real, infects computers, and how to remove it, etc.

Still funny shit though. I'm not sure I'd be able to stay calm on something like that, I'd probably tell them how stupid they were for downloading a program like that without checking into it, then laugh at them for not knowing how to get ride of it.

If i wasnt shit tired and technically on probation (due to shift of ownership, not something I did) I probably would have continued the conversation instead of just telling them theres nothing I can do and basically make them feel like an ass for cursing me out.

But there was no more calls in queue and I wanted to take the time to do nothing.

Made me laugh so hard. Some people are just Really stupid. This is the textbook definition of the people that fall under the catagory of "They fucked themselves over, and need someone else to blame for the thing they did to themselves" Stupid.

Still, I would have just busted out laughing at that point. Would have said something like "I wish you the best of luck with that, sir."
