just an fyi for those who apparently dont know, this isnt army vs army. its 1v1. You cant make much of a phalanx with just 1 person

boo 1v1. Cant compare warrior cultures based on 1 person. have to be able to judge their tactics as an army as well somehow.

i watch the history channel ever day on lunch, last week, big viking special. and they got their asses handed to them... eventually. for awhile they were killing machines, but they were killing machines based on the fact that they would come by sea and it was hard to predict when and where they would attack. they would take by surprise

As it's said, the Vikings were raiders and pirates. They popped up out of nowhere, killed the men, raped the women, took what they could carry with them and destroyed everything they couldn't. Not really the kind of people you wanna fuck with.

In terms of solo performance, the Japanese samurai might have a slight edge there, because their entire culture has been really big on the solo hero deal for hundreds and hundreds of years.

Then again, the whole concept of the berserker comes from the Vikings...

i think the samurai is a clear win and I thought it was too close. The precision samurai have with that bow of theirs is AMAZING. They could shoot a viking in the eye while riding on the back of their horse from a huge distance.

yes they got their ass kicked it happens in any fight but no army was ever sent to their home lands to fight and defeat them . that speaks volumes


vikings weren't mindless fighters they were skilled and intelligent combatants.
