A couple of months ago here in San Antonio the dealerships were offering a brand new Dodge Caliber or PT Cruiser with the purchase of a Pickup Truck at normal price which had gone down to ridiculously low at the time, too. (under 10K)
I just got a '86 Dodge Ram SE Royal 150 for $1200 and we have already put about 1k more into it on repairs and such (that is just parts, not labor, did that myself). Even got an offer for it from an employee at the local auto zone that was just over what we have put into it money wise along with what we bought it for.
If it were not for the Economy right now, I would be driving a Stang...

Re: Used Car Sales?
DOH! Digital beat me out to what I was going to say =[
Now earlier when you said that they tried to give you 5k below blue book, I'm assuming you were quoting KBB Retail? Cause you need to check what the trade-in value is on it if you are going to be dealing with a dealership.
Honestly though, everytime I go to one of those places to "Deal" I straight up tell them (this is only if I owe more than what kbb rates trade-in at) If they are not giving me $500 over what MY payoff is, I don't even want to look at a peice of paper.
Never have rolled any negative over that way!
