I've said enough. You sound like a good guy Watsyurdeal?..... You sound as though you want to help her and you care deeply enough to do so..... so do what you think is best.

Well it looks like people are helping out someone with his problem and your running your mouth like a tool.

honestly Tick has the right to express his opinion... no point in getting furious about that. I may or may not agree with him, but i wouldn't tell him to f*** off either.

Watsurdeal I gotta agree with the others. I think its generaly agreed upon that talking about a problem is the best way to start. I think you need to research the problem then talk to her. I doubt talking to her parens will help you made them sound like they wouldnt accept any advice or take kindly to you interfearing.

When my gf found out that that's how I feel she got upset. Am I wrong for feeling the way I do?

EDIT: Shit, someone move this to off server please?
Why are you dating someone who cuts themselves? It seems like you're the one who needs help. Weird.

Every one should listen to Tick. He makes more sense in one of his posts than all these other posts combined. Have you actually thought what your GF would think about this? You posting her PRIVATE problems for the whole WORLD to see. Sure you're not naming names, but it's just as bad.

You're not helping her in anyway.

It's like cracking your knuckles, or riding a roller coaster or watching a scarey movie, but more extreme. Usually they don't cut extremely deep, just enough to prick the pain receptors which causes an autonomic adrenaline response which gives a kind of euphoria or elevated sense of awareness that can be pleasurable... much like the jump and scare of a horror flick or the rush of a roller coaster. It's basically a twisted way to get an adrenaline rush.. as opposed to hang gliding, sky diving, etc.
Oh god, don't tell me cracking your knuckles is bad...?

cracking your knuckles depletes synovial fluid in your joints and causes early arthritis

I'm Sorry, But This statement is completely and undeniably Un true.

I had a friend that cut himself awhile back. One day he trusted me with this little secret. The very first thing i did was went and told someone else (School counceler) about it.

Do i think its right to post This in a public forum? No, i do not think it is. There really are better people you could tell than People you've never met.

Do i think its right That he is looking for opinions and help on what to do? Hell yes, i sure as hell do.

I dont know about you guys, But when i find myself in a situation like this, where i dont know what to do, the first place i turn to is my friends.

Whatsyurdeal Came here looking for opinions and help. Personally, i would, and do, feel honored that he trusts me, And The TTP community, Enough to Come and ask for help with something like this.

Just because you dont think it's right, doesnt mean you have to be an ass about it. Personally, i don't think it's right. He should have Talked to someone else, Someone closer to him that could really help. But instead, he came here to ask us for help. Let's Not Be Asswipes, and rail on him because he did what he thought was right.

He did what he thought was the right thing to do, and I Respect that. I Respect the fact That He Cares enough about his Girlfriend To Be looking For a way to help her. There are some people out there that Wouldn't Give a rats ass if their Girlfriend Was cutting herself.

On to the matter at hand

    My opinion.

Definatly Get her some professional Help. If her Parents Wont pay for it, And You Really do care abut her, Then You should Definatly pay for it yourself. If it were me, My Girlfriend Being happy And loving life Would Be Way more important than any amount of money. I would Trade Everything i own To Make Her Happy.

    Where to start....hmmmm....oh yea

    WHAT THE FUCK MAN?

Get here ass commited and get her some help.

If she continue to do this she can open herself to various infections and disease and possibly make her heart weak and fail. Watch the Episode of House if you need pictures for the big words.
