NEED HELP PLEASE!!!
Ok, as most of you know I am from the New Orleans area. I am a member of a beach volleyball complex, and have been for a few years now. This complex is home to thousands of volleyball players who play in leagues all during the week and play in tourneys on the weekends and such.
Basically what it boils down to is this...the Corps of Engineers is planning to build a pumping station directly where the Coconut Beach Volleyball complex is. Crap thing is, they wont even be compensated for it.

On the front page of the site, is the information about what's going, inclduing Gib Owen's (the guy in charge of the project) email address and phone number. I know that none of you live around here or would ever play here, but if you could, shoot an email over to him asking him to reconsider. This place means a lot to me and thousands of others in the New Orleans area.
http://www.coconutbeachnola.com/army_corps.html Here is a more in depth explanation.
Please help us out and help us save defend Coconut Beach. The only way we are going to stop this from happening is by public opinion, and we need all the support we can get, so please, even if it's just a "Please reconsider, we love coconut beach" email, do it. Otherwise we will be losing something special to us.
Thanks For Being A Teamplayer!!!!

It currently has 22 courts and runs leagues on about 15 of those nets with 8 teams each Tuesday-Friday and they host fun events, tournaments, etc... on the weekends. There is a bar and grill on site right next to the courts, so it's a great place to hang out, meet new people, and have some fun while you're at it. Not to mention it's fun to watch people try to play v-ball while intoxicated
If you want to see exactly how many people play there, just go to the main website (posted in my original post) and click on the days on the right hand side of the page. That lists all nets and the teams that play on them....it's quite entertaining just to read the team names.....
It has only been growing, even after Katrina, which totally wrecked the complex, but they rebuilt it and made it bigger and better, because they know how to be teamplayers.
Thanks again guys, in advance for your help!

Re: NEED HELP PLEASE!!!
I am curious as to what is being pumped and also what are the feasible alternative sites?
I want to support a fellow TTPer, but sometimes public works are vital and have to interfere with people's fun
Found what I need
