I've read from several sources that 3500 calories is equal to approximately 1 pound of fat.

So cut back 500 calories per day from your diet, plus knock off another 300 from excercise/various activities, both per day, and you can lose 1 pound every 4-5 days.

I'm 24 and was weighing in around 220lbs...I'm 6 feet tall and I needed somewheres around 2200-2400 calories per day to maintain my weight....so I cut out eating late night meals/snacks and started doing a good bit of cardio. I now weigh in around 200, 2 months later. (I've also gained muscle weight, so my fat dropped even more than that.)

Cut out all the extra snacks you don't need, lose the late night meals (don't eat after 8 PM). Regular sodas have 100+ calories alone, switch to diet sodas or water (both 0 calories). Eat more small meals as opposed to fewer large meals.

I'm not a nutrition expert, but these are just some of the things I've read and they have worked for me.
Yea, I have been making my midnight snack cheerios or a huge juicy red apple.

Re: Why is America so fat?

Chaulk it up to whatever you want. Me i call it lazy. Why walk into Burger king to get your food if you can keep your fat ass in the car and pull up to a window. I do physical larbor for work and still park at the end of the lot at the mall. I know when i come out there won't be anyone near my car. People are to fuckin lazy to walk the whole parking lot to get to the food court. People find a gym close to there house so they can drive a cross the street to go work out.

Don't blame fast food for people getting fat. They never said drive thru our window then go home and watch oprah.
