Really depends on the context and the motivation behind the advice. If Nuckle were telling you it was a POS,only to turn around and buy it himself...that would be an asshole move. That wasn't the case here. Nuckle saw a young kid, about to make a mistake. A 17 y/o car, with turbos that are KNOWN to fail, plus the added insurance cash, plust the fact it has obviously been driven pretty hard, makes for some pretty sound advice on Nuckle's part.

Nuckle was just trying to give you the benefit of his experience and wisdom.Turn your own question around.....If someone saw that you were about to make a mistake, and said nothing to you about it and let you make the mistake, wouldn't that piss you off?

    True dat...my apologies.

Of course I respect your opinions and I actually use some your advice

But I understand you perspective...although I can't buy the car now anyways...well I could, but I can't pay for the insurance.

That '67 I was talking about, used to be a pretty truck (candy apple red). But I had all the dents pulled and then it had primer spots all over it. It was ugly, and people laughed at it... But after I blew them out of the water by about 6 or 7 car lengths, they stopped laughing.

I didn't give a shit what my truck looked like, cause that thing sounded like a beast and ran like a beast. I literally ate up any car that pulled up next to me at the light, except maybe 2 or 3 times but I knew I was going to lose.

I don't drive it anymore because the brakes need to be redone, the gas tank needs to be dropped, and it needs inspection. I've been away at college and my dad has been too busy to replace all that. So once I get done with school and what not, I plan on turning that truck into a show truck.

Slam it with air bags, midnight blue w/ ghost flames, the whole works... mmmmm sexy.

Something like that, but 100X better. SAVE YOUR CLASSICS WHILE YOU CAN!

Older turbo cars tend to need more attention under the hood. It wouldn't be a wise move unless you knew how to work on them yourself. These types of cars are the most fun to drive but turn into a money pit. Before you know it, your daily driver turns in a hobby to keep it running.

Hub, there is a '68 for sale right down the street from me. Almost all primer except part of the bed. needs some work, but she looks so pretty. So tempting.

It's not, you can tell by the front spoiler, the stock TT's have slits on each side of the lower front spoiler for the oil and intercoolers. I'm a Z car guy here as well, although i've modded many Z32's, I myself am a 70's 240/260/280Z dude.

I also autoX a 95 Supra TT 6sp, that SMOKES bimmers

AND,,have a modded 06 Xterra offroad SIX SPEED that i'm about to embark on an extreme offroad adventure in PA in July.

For those that can't drive stick or refuse to drive stick because whatever you've READ...you must not know how to actually drive a stick...double clutching and all...in a race..i'll smoke any automatic/CVT/AMG...blah blah..and my shit will last longer. Although as Nuck said earlier..the Nissan CVT and SynchroRev that are in the new Maxima and 370Z are quit impressive on the track, however, i will always stick to THE STICK! personal preference i guess.
