Two cyclists got so tired of seeing cars clipping bicycles on the roads that they invented a set of laser beams to keep motorists away. The LightLane, created by Americans Evan Gant and Alex Tee, is a small unit that can attach to any bicycle and creates an instant bike lane by projecting a line of light at either side of the cyclist.
It only works at night, of course, but the principal is that it gives cyclists a definite 'buffer zone' to stop motorists from driving their cars too close. The idea is to make bikers more confident about using their bikes at night on the roads, rather than veering onto footpaths, for example.
LightLane is still under development, but the battery-powered unit should cost around £30 when it goes on sale, can be recharged with a mobile phone charger and lasts around three hours. At present its creators are deciding which colour works best, but in this video you'll see a green LightLane in action.
At least help too with the idiots who wear dark clothing when out at night.

usually when I see a biker on the street I curse to myself and get WAY WAY WAY out of the way of him, because they scare the shit out of me when theyre in the street. But that is pretty cool wonder how cops would react to this in comparison to all the other things bikers are supposed to have

They are supposed to have many things here....
Good idea, but I really think there needs to be some sort of PSA about riding bikes in the street, especially when it comes to high traffic areas. I often see bicycles on what is effectively the turnpike in our town, though it has stoplights occasionally. The speed limit is 55 on most of it and folks regularly go faster than this. Often I will see bicyclists on the road... to me this is folly as there are many less dangerous routes to take. For a bicycle, you can only go to a certain speed so side streets shouldn't be as big a deal and are probably much safer.

this is pretty sweet, my brother and I have these 2 LED strips that (since they move in a circle) you can program to make any image, or just to make your wheels glowing circles

Both applications look dope. Chicago is a "bike freindly" city, meaning they have made bike lanes on all arterial streets, but I don't think that is enough, especially at night. The lazer bike lane, methinks, will be a hit here in Chicago, as well as the the monkeylectric wheels. I am going to buy some of those monkeylectrics ASAP.

What I dislike is how cyclists ignore the law where they gotta obey the rules of the road if there biking in the road. You dont got 15 MPH on a 45 MPH road. You stop at red lights, you signal, you dont pass a fuckin highway on ramp as a car is entering. You fuckin hit your brakes when theres a car in the way. I live in austin and were "bike friendly" to bad the bikers arnt car friendly.
