Harmless comic characters or racist robots?

The buzz over the summer blockbuster "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" only grew Wednesday as some said two jive-talking Chevy characters were racial caricatures.

Skids and Mudflap, twin robots disguised as compact hatchbacks, constantly brawl and bicker in rap-inspired street slang. They're forced to acknowledge that they can't read. One has a gold tooth.

As good guys, they fight alongside the Autobots and are intended to provide comic relief. But their traits raise the specter of stereotypes most notably seen when Jar Jar Binks, the clumsy, broken-English speaking alien from "Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace," was criticized as a caricature.

I guess a white person couldn't use street slang, be illiterate and have a gold tooth? Racists

:3......why do people always have to look at negatives or racial issues of something...I wonder who was the first person to mention this...

"It's one thing when robot cars are racial stereotypes," he said, "but the movie also had a bucktoothed black guy who is briefly in one scene who's also a stereotype."

as long as there isnt any robots crossing a river or making a boat out of another robot and then the robots take my jobs, I got no problems

I think people are just a little too quick to jump the gun on this stuff now.

Its a movie. Get over it. If you think its racist and it offends you? Then don't go see it.

Optimus is a big beefy dude with a deep voice, but uses correct english. Is he white? Or is he Morgan Freeman?

This movie has it's tongue well in cheek. That's the whole point. Hell, Devastator has giant wrecking ball testicles.

It's was entertaining and packed with explosions. That's all you should be after.

Those 2 were completely useless (not that the movies didn't have other useless stuff) in the movie and could/should have been left out. If you don't mind stereotypes being forced down your throat then yes it was ok.
