one of the best for free range that i've seen just browsing on-line, at least for sausage, is over in England. THey have a ton of free range and specialty pigs etc and don't know just always sounded good.
Again though, not every town has a choice of free range and other things. For example where i am at most of the land that isn't developed is used to grow cotton and nothing else, so it is fairly hard if you want a local meat. Some bigger cities are more likely to have specialist shops due to the size and thus a larger market

Mmmm goin in for a 1200 cow Wendy's later
But I agree with Red and Soy, Free range is the best for you and the best tasting products there are.
For instance Eggs. I get the cage free, large organic brown. Best ones by far IMO as far as taste.
I try as best as I can to buy organic beef/chicken, but sometimes when your in a hurry and there is a walmart down the road.......

Re: Beef Recall
The problem with free range is that it makes less money And Americans have gotten used to eating two to thre times their protein requirement and believe that meat must be eaten at every meal. Beef used to be the dish of kings. Thanks to factory farming, we can all be kings for $0.99 (that is if Whoppers are still $0.99, as a vegetarian I would not know).
