Republican comments on the 300 page ammendent to Cap and Trade Bill

It is a 7 part series... Provides examples of areas in the legislation that are not defined or not well defined as well as the impacts that would be pushed down onto EVERY American town/city. The bill passed the house by a narrow margin...but remember at the current numbers Congress can and will pass anything they really want without a single vote from the minority Republican party without limit. Given that condition, this bill was still hotly contested and will be going through the senate soon. If you agree great. If not, great but know what is going on.

It seems you rather prefer system where no debate occurs. Irrelevant comments aside it is for information purposes only...seeing as how both you and I cannot link certain media sites without the usual slant one way or another..but seeing the timing of your post it is clear that at least this point you have most likely not watched the length of the comments but yet feel compelled to stereotype it as some kind of fear-mongering. Bills need to be judged by their content and not by the bumper sticker slogans or some overly simplified media reference to their content...this isnt horseshoes or hand grenades...close doesnt count.

Setting aside the 2-party hot air dialogue which they encourage to stop us from really talking about how our government works...what do you think about 300-page amendments to 1,200-page bills being submitted at 3:00 AM when the vote is expected the next day?

    Does that seem...kosher?

That is exactly what is heard, whenever a party leader gets on the floor to either support or oppose any given bill........ Sloganeering grasping for the most extreme examples, exaggerated beyond comprehension.......You would do better posting the bill and letting others read it. You posting John Boehner and other party leaders' comments holds just about as much credibility as if I were to post Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid or Steny Hoyer's comments on the bill. You said, "Bills need to be judged by their content and not by the bumper sticker slogans or some overly simplified media reference to their content...this isnt horseshoes or hand grenades...close doesnt count."....yet you post only the Republican Party leaders' comments on the bill, as if they aren't proffering " bumper sticker slogans or some overly simplified media reference to their content " as if somehow, John Boehner is above that. Somehow only the Rep party leaders have the exact impact of the bill, complete with no exaggerations...........

I think your Kool-Aid is getting a little low, looks like you might need a refill.

And besides that,Science forbid we actually hold factories accountable for the shit they spew into our air.

Sloganeering grasping for the most extreme examples, exaggerated beyond comprehension.......You would do better posting the bill http://energycommerce.house.gov/Pres...515/hr2454.pdf (932 pages) and the 310 page amendment http://www.pserc.org/docsa/Cap_Trade...t_Proposed.pdf and letting others read it. I hope they do. You posting John Boehner and other party leaders' comments holds just about as much credibility as if I were to post Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid or Steny Hoyer's comments on the bill. How about the mandatory posting time before a bill can be voted on? That was a campaign promise from O was it not? Even I say that is a great idea...What happened there?

Just add it to the list of broken O'promises..

And say what you want about the site, it's the content that matters. Can't dodge facts.

But I know...being President is hard. Lying and breaking promises are in the official job description.

And therein lies the biggest problem. That is how either side gets bills crammed through. You give them an ungodly amount of material to read, then give them a day to read it, discuss it, and make a vote.

Granted I would like to see our representatives and senators just turn it down if they arent allowed enough time to go over the bills.

And yes, Obama is breaking a ton of promises, which is to be expected from any politician. However, what is really hilarious about all of it is, that everyone though somehow he was different, and he wouldnt do that... but I'm sure Bush has something to do with this....that evil evil man.

Re: Republican comments on the 300 page ammendent to Cap and Trade Bill

And how is Obama to blame, in regards to how Congress makes and passes bills? Last I heard, he is the executive and and congress isn't.

Look I agree with the fact that it should be passed with clarity, and it should be given enough time to be read. Especially with whatever amendments are involved.

I could care less what party created the EPA. I do care about which party has been steadily trying to neuter if not outright destroy the EPA.

I heard him dole out snippets from the bill, rather grey and general. Besides that, I truly don't care for "Cap and Trade" (it was originally a Bush idea) I think the government, by mandate of the US citizens, ought to be able to tell corporations (which truly aren't citizens, but are given citizen's rights) how much shit they can spew into the air or our waterways. But if it is cap and trade that is on the menu versus status quo, then Ill take cap and trade, at least it is some sort of progression to reversing this fucked up trend.
