"Boost Mic Gain"

Hey, time for a noob question,

I have been advised to tick the "Boost Mic Gain" box, because my voice was kind of quiet. but when I went to tick the box, it was brown so I couldn't check it off. Does anyoneknow anything that can help me? Is there something I'm missing?

Oh yeah, I have a Logitech headset mic, Microphone port kind, not USB

If you were currently connected to a server when you tried to change it that would be the problem. Most settings can't be changed when connected to a server. If that's not the case your mic may not be able to handle a boost. *****HINT HINT, GET A NEW ONE******

Nah, every mic can "Handle" a boost gain... you just need to do it when you're not connected to a server.

Even when I'm not connected to a server it wont let me check the box

Hmmmmn... queer... then I dunno, I guess Black Hawk is right, maybe you do need a new mic.. I swear, every mic I've seen can use a mic boost.
