    HD DVD is dead.

    Blu-ray Won. Whoopie.

Now the companies who invested to make Blu Ray the next movie disc format have two choices.

Focus on making the technology affordable and reliable or Keeping it jacked up to about 300 to 500 bucks for a player.

I haven't even bought a Blu Ray DVD yet because of the cost. Hopefully they will come down too. I've just been using Netflix since we bought it.

And hopefully soon they will make Star Trek and Serenity on Blu Ray! ( I guess Star Wars too )

I have been following this for a while. I figured it would be a price war for a while and eventually the one that went cheapest would win, but apparently it's come down to which big companies are going to support who. Well, I guess the war is over. Wal-mart has officially stated that it will only sell Blu-ray discs and players. For those of you interested, you can pick up a Toshiba HDDVD player for about $150 off amazon. That's a steal compared to $300+ they are charging for the cheapest BLu-ray players. Me, I'll wait for the prices to drop just like I did on my HDTV. $999 for a 42" Toshiba Regza LCD.
