I really didn't mean funny as in "HaHa" funny. Until I read this thread,I just assumed it was pretty much the same everywhere. I know some States are much...free-er with the CCW Permits,but I guess I never thought about it too much. I was born and raised here,so Minnesota's rules are all I really know.I too am a gun owner/enthusiast,but only really know the laws that affect me.I have had my CCW Permit for about two years now,but rarely,if ever carry.When they changed the law here,I got mine while the getting was good,before they changed the laws back to what they were. This is the State where nothing is allowed. We can buy a shotgun,but not a firecracker.On Sundays, strong beer (not 3.2) can only be sold in bars (and only if that bar also sells food)...not to take home.

I guess I would be sort of torn on the differences of the laws between the States.On the one hand,you're right...it does kind of suck that I can't enjoy the Freedoms to the extent that some other States do. On the other,I like the fact that the States have been able to decide how they want to apply the rules. I think a lot of things would be better off with the individual States making decisions rather than the Federal Government. If a State wants to outlaw abortion,or allow gay marriage or whatever,and you don't like it...you can either work to get the rules changed,or move to a State where there are more like-minded people.

In fact...according to the story,the guy had a loaded weapon between the seats of his car...Without a CCW Permit here,he would have been charged with a FELONY.Like I said...this is the State where nothing is allowed.But I love it here.I wouldn't be happy anywhere else.

I think they should hand out CCW's at age 18 and take them away as necessary. Make CCW a right every has until they do something to revoke said right.

but then that may be going a tad to far.

I'd rather you earn the CCW than do something to dis-earn it.
