    I could see applications here for (and I am just speculating): Low evaporation irrigation design, erosion modeling (and therefore erosion prevention) and advancing fluid dynamics understanding.

    I can see the last two, but how would evaporation factor into raindrop size? Are you talking about a sprinkler that's set to shoot only the smallest necessary water droplets?
