anyways, cool story...I know I THINK I'm in shape but my workout is pretty much very very standard, I don't measure BF or even weight...I measure results with my performance in the sports I practice...but I go to the gym just as much as I play sports....couldn't live without either one...but you could definitely teach me alot of shit I don't know and probably get me 50x fitter. Start writing some damn articles man....PLEASE.
If I did not have extra muscle from the weight training, my healthy weight is between 185 and 190. I had to work pretty hard to get this extra mass and I have to work to maintain it too. But it makes it more work running and swimming. I run in the "clydesdale" class in Triathlon and Marathon. But I tell ya, I love smokin' the little guys on the road. Usually little 160 pound bastards stomp guys my size when it comes to running just because I need so many more calories to move the same distance. But with dedicated training I stomp them right back.

An interesting thing is, there are a lot of guys I train with who are out for bulk. They look hurkin' huge and have a BF similar to mine. But I outweigh many of them. I think the martial arts and swimming have helped me build up a lot of stabilizing muscles to a point they have not, and I have trained the major muscles to be hurkin' at the same time. Whereas someone like you has trained those stabilizing muscles also but the major muscles are only as beefy as they need to be to do their job.

And when it comes to sports, specificity wins. So keep up what you are doing. It costs a lot to maintain a high body mass and train regularly (I eat around 3,000 to 3,500 calories a day).

Re: How out of shape are you?

Yea, I have a hard time gaining weight, and if I stop going to the gym I loose weight (muscle mass I think) pretty fast...I'm pretty much muscle, skin and bones. It may have something to do with my extracurricular activities too (heavily drinking and some smoking on weekends)

So start writing man, you're filled with information you need to teach US!! Spread the wealth!

P.S. I don't know why someone would want to look like a damn sausage, all those huge bulky guys...it looks like shit...there's nothing like being able to look normal in clothes and being fuckin ripped.

Whom I can't beat I can most likely outrun, but sadly I can't gain weight sitting at my wopping 140 pounds up from 120 when I first started.

Re: How out of shape are you?

For being only 15 and going into high school i'm doing pretty well. Just started lifting this summer and gained 10 pounds so far. but i have also been in sports since i was 3. i have done baseball since i was 3, basketball since i was 5 football for 3 years, track for 3 years, cross country for 3 years. And now being in high school they dont allow you to do all the sports you want because of conflicts. So now its just Tennis, basketball, and baseball. My legs were effin huge from track and cross country but i have been victim to some serious injuries here lately. As i said i was going into sophemore year of high school well in my 8th grade year i was planned to do CC, football, track, basketball, and baseball. Well it was a double night so i ran my CC meet and i won since im tall for my age and have long legs. well afterwards i didn't wait on my team i just left and went to my football game. I played the whole football game like i usually did on both sides of the ball. i was QB and DE. Well they took me out in the 4th quarter because we were getting beat. So they put in the young kids. And well they got screwed up and only had 10 kids on the field so i went out as a safety because they hardly do anything in middle school football. There was like 40 seconds in the game and they were just running to run out the clock so they ran up the gut and well i ran up there but one of our line backers hit him in the back and he fell on my knee as i was about to change directions *snap* breaks my femur in 3 spots. this was on 9/11/07. i had surgery to reconstruct my whole knee and femur. in Feb. my body rejected the metal in my leg so i had to have surgery to get it out and also orthoscopic surgery to clean out the joints in my knee. Well i had to rehab for 6 months and still my knee wont bed as far as my other knee. Well we got that all taken care of after missing all my sports my 8th grade year. So freashman year comes along and i go through tennis and basketball season everything is looking good. Play 5 games on Jv and then get called up to Varsity which was no big suprise since im the number 2 ranked catcher for my age in Indiana. and well i was playing basketball and jammed my finger no big deal. well i woke up the next day and it was swollen and purple. and i had a double header that day. so i played 2 games catching with my whole hand taped up. and then i dove and my finger got up and under the base. went to the doctor that same day and i ended up pulling a tendon chipping a piece of the bone and pulling the whole top joint away from the rest of the finger. Yup that took a surgery and made me miss D1 basketball camp and my varsity baseball year.

Yeah so i lost all the muscle in my legs from having to be in a vast from hip to toes for 6 weeks and being on crutches and a wheel chair for 6 months. and well breaking my finger just made me mad more then anything.

And my genes look good my dad was a black belt karate fighter and my Grandpa was 6 foot 5 and was an absolute freak of nature.
So if i keep lifting and working out its looking pretty god because i ahve huge shoulders and am really wide.
