What I don't understand is why terrorist would even use homegrown.
I mean some of the finest stuff in the world comes from terror filled countries so why use trailer-trash sschwag when you can have the best ?

    Wreathed in smoke in Lebanon
    We burn the midnight oil
    The fragrance of Afghanistan
    Rewards a long day's toil

I would tend to agree. Sucks if you live up north though.

Anyone remember all the conspiracy theories over the OKC bombing? I have found myself one of about 150 people or so that can with firsthand knowledge debunk some of the crap the tin foil hats hold up as evidence.

    Re: Home Grown Terrorism

    I saw one years ago.
Some general did a study and "proved" that low-order explosives could not have caused the damage.
I never anything debunking that and it seemed like a straight forward exercise in demolition, something anyone could have fact checked.
I would tend to think that there were people involved besides those two but I am the suspicious type.

I have had to do alot of explosives research for work here lately and there is alot of powerful compounds out there. The fertilizer/fuel oil combo is actually pretty powerful.

i watched a whole special on how and why the OKC building collapse, i highly doubt (as i do with 9/11) that it didn't happen.

If protocol says that the information you possess is important enough to keep out of the media - and releasing it to the media will get you fired - then releasing it anonymously is just plain stupid and a sign of poor law enforcement acumen....dolts.
Unfortunately the way our society works this has become not only acceptable but common place. Now days usually it isn't even low end workers releasing said info, but the actual people above them that made the rule it could not be released.

It is used as ways to appease the media and as a bargaining chip. I will give you this scoop but now you own me one. As well as a way for them to release information that they want the public to have but deny it if it blows up in their face. This happens at all levels of government, from small town police all the way up too Presidents and is VERY common in Congress (All sides of the aisle).
