jesus guys... the neck! how can that even be right?

First off, a leash is for a pet, not a child.

Second, those that i have seen marketed and in use are attached to a harness of some sort that criss crosses in the front, or back and clips to the leash on the opposite side. It does look to me as if the child at least twisted himself in it a turn or two before dropping to the floor.

I know the frustration cause by a rambunctious child in a public place, but there are better ways to address the situation, some that are greeted with applause from fellow shoppers.

As for leashes themselves.....2 year olds and such, once they learn to walk, you can't get them to fucking sit still.

You've been carrying those 20 lbs of baby fat for 2 years anytime you go out, so it's nice to let them walk around themselves...That and the walking tires the kids out quite a bit.

Personally, I wish more people would use these leashes....in the restaurant I'm at, nothing sucks more than coming out of the kitchen with a tray weighing 40 lbs precariously balanced between your hand and shoulder, and almost falling over some wayward little toddler...just to realize his mom is sitting halfway across the restaurant.
Oh, the mom always gets up right away to come chase her child, meaning she was keeping an eye on him, and actually let him wander away that F*cking far, almost into the server-only side alley of the restaurant.

Lady tipped me 20 bucks though and I wasn't serving her table so it all worked out in the end.

As a patron I was sitting in a nice restaurant once with a number of friends. And there was a child running round and round at breakneck speeds... And he ran right into me twice... Keep in mind this child was probably 8 if he was a day... I gave him the "do that again and die" look and told him to go sit his ass down. He gave me the puppy dog look I'm sure he learned causes his parents' hearts to melt and allow him to continue doing whatever he damn well wanted. And then proceeded to bust ass around the restaurant again. And I kept a very close eye on him. And waited... and waited... and when he busted his little ass around my table again my foot got an involuntary itch and shot out about 6 inches... Oops... child hits floor. "OH! I bet that hurt! You'd better go find your mom and dad now and sit down..." His eyes were big as saucers and lower lip trembling and crying just a bit he went... and sat... down.

Now if it was my kid I wouldn't have... inadvertently... tripped him. I'd have spanked his ass. But sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I bet he thinks about it the next time he's in a restaurant considering running around like an idiot.

Heh, I remember there was once a time where if the parents wouldn't discipline the kid, another adult would. If someone tried that now, they'd probably be jailed for child abuse and pedophilia.
