Was the money supposed to be spent on the staffers salaries?

I'm not to familiar with the situation - just wondering how they were going to achieve these savings
No, the money is to run the office and all surplus is to be returned to the general fund at the end of the year.
But like the NYC City Council's slush fund, NY pols break the law all the time and since so many of them do it, nobody will stand up to enforce the rules.
The NY state House and Senate are also in for a big surprise as they come up for reelection.
Normally the public doesn't pay that much attention to what happens in Albany, the state capitol.
But since the attempted Republican coup and a whole month of getting paid to be legislators while they did absolutely nothing, has caught the public's attention.
Like Pelosi's fleet of G5s, the people who are out of work are paying attention to the perks our "leaders" are giving themselves.

At 4000 cal it sounds as though you have some room to cut variable costs.
I had a roommate who was in that program in Louisiana. From he said, they definitely need that many Calories.

It is going to cost the state more money in the end, if they do choose to shut down this program.

How can they expect you to keep your business, if they expect you to take a loss on your product?
So true...in so many industries...in so many places.

    Moto,

They work the hell out of these kids. They usually sit around complaining how hungry they are even after all that food. And yes, they specify EVERYTHING these kids are too eat. No wiggle room there at all.
