    ahaha i think the embarrassment of shooting yourself is bad enough.. 2 years sounds steep.

    Firearms do not go off by "accident." An accident is when a deer jumps in front of your car. An unintentional weapon discharge is always a result of pure negligence or recklessness. That shot could have just as easily fired across the bar and killed someone. That said, maybe 1 year + a 1 or 2 community service for outreach would benefit the public more than just 2 years of jail time.
