There are so many students in their 30's, 40's, 50's, I even took a class with a guy that was in his 80's surprisingly.

And studies show that students over the age of 25 perform significantly better on average than their younger counterparts and they retain more. Their motivation is better usually: They want to be there and want to learn, the younger students usually just want to get the grade and move on. While I see this every day in anecdote it has statistic relevance also.
Don't sweat going to college a few years later, it is not a big deal.
At the same time, if you are going into the military to get school paid for, just go to school and forget the military.
But, in reading this thread and talking to my brother (CWO III, Army) there seems to be some wisdom in getting your college education (or at least some of it) prior to entering the service.
In any case, don't sweat going to school at any age; one of my best friends got a degree in robotics right after high school. He ended up back at the university a few years later study music. Learning is for every age.

Re: Military Recruiters and what to look for?
haha I won't lie, the questions on mechanic and electrical work really threw me, though I think those only show up in the line scores and not in the score I listed.
so my recruiter tells me I am basically qualified for any MOS in the marines.....
any suggestions of something useful to look into? , other than 03 infantry of course
