Civil makes a good point, especially in the depressed economy.
Many were suffering while Wal-Mart was doing better... People like cheap stuff.
I personally try by locally and high quality, but sometimes it just costs too much for even my ethics. If I made good money, I would certainly by US made and local products almost exclusively.

Not many things made in America anymore.
WalMart is viable because of bully tactics, as well as a completely uninformed consumer, certainly not because they sell superior products. But like I said, maybe the $5 savings is worth exposing your family to tainted junk bought on the cheap from Chin....I mean Wal Mart.....

And you prove my point. MOST, not all, people go to Wal-Mart to get the inferior product for the cheaper price. Wal-Mart knows that MOST of the consumers feel this way, so they buy the cheapest stuff they can, and thus sell it as cheap as they can. Consumers speak with their cash, and MOST say give me the cheap stuff, so the companies that do this grow.
