CPU qusetion

i have never used a opteron. but i been reading the comments and overclocking at 2.81ghz is frickin sweet for a amdcpu and i was thinking about buy this one. being able to oc that much and it still be stable.

you should get the fx because it was designed for gamers like us who need fast memory acess, personally i reccomend (if you have the money) this cpu http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec....iteria=BA22707.
Also the X2 series is worth it but buy a new MoBo (Socket AM2) because you cant find much 939 (What i run) stuff any more. But frankly the Athlon 3000+ works fine but hey bigger, faster, better.

right now im running a 3800+ but im looking to upgrade within the 939 socket cause i dont want to have to buy new ram and all. im prolly going to go with the fx55.

You can upgrade to a X2 processor, but you dont have to change ram if you by the right MoBo you can keep it and your video card. bUT FRANKLY YOU DONT NEED another processor, it should work just dandy.
