Motorcycle Riders?
Hey guys,
Just joined the community. Haven't posted much at all but I figured I'd throw this out there. I did a few searches, didn't see much else done recently about this.
Figured with a forum this big, we'd have to have at least a few more riders.
So post your bikes, riding stories, plans, whatever. If we've got any Texas riders located around Houston, or up through East Texas, I'd be up for a group ride or something.
Here's my bike, a 1986 BMW R80. My father and I spent the summer restoring it. It had been sitting in the barn for about 6 years.
To get it up and running we had to:
Clean, adjust carbs
Remove old crappy tank liner. Had to have the tank boiled it was so bad.
Put in a new liner
Had the Tank repainted
Seat recovered
New electrical panel on the left hand
Replace brake disc
Replace master cylinder
Remarkably, the engine needed no work at all.
Anyway, Share!

I live in Pearland. This bike I got 100% free. The guy said it was sitting in his garage taking up space and just wanted to get rid of it. I have to pay to get it titled, eventually, but he said it only needs a new carburetor and a new battery. Then some cosmetic work.
btw, its a 1980 Kawasaki 440 LTD Belt, not chain

I'm actually a member of AmeriVespa (Vespa Club of America) and I am helping with organization of the rally next year in May here in San Antonio at the Holiday Inn Tropicana downtown.
I don't have my own scooter yet but here is a pic of my mothers old pink one she sold; I named it Floyd but she refused to call it that. It's a 150 CC got up to 50 mph and got about 100 MPG on gas and 200 when coupled with the battery.

She replaced that one with this 250 CC Kymco, would go 75 on the highway and got about 100 to the gallon as well (my step dad has the same one with a slightly larger engine and in black, they had gotten them to match):

Sold that one because she was scared to even ride it because the center of gravity was way to low when she rode it. Replaced it with a Kymco AGR GT200. I'll picturize that one tomorrow, maybe.
Oh, and there is this really old school scooter that we gave to my cousin that is worth a REALLY pretty penny.
