In that link is a leaked copy(pdf) of the report that Mcchrystal sent to the Pentagon. He clearly says in the report that the situation in Afghanistan is deteriorating.

Re: Obama National Debt
I'm of course opposed to tax cuts during a recession, but even when we had a robust economy, we were giving them to the wrong people. The last administration pushed through tax cuts to help out their cronies and friends, NOT the average business holder. Small business owners got nothing, I-9's like me got worse rates, thought I did finally get a slightly higher mileage reimbursement. Those tax cuts were funded in part (because we can't actually give cuts without taking it away from someone else) by making it harder for kids to get student loans, and raising the rates on the loans already out there. To tell the country you're the party that protects businesses when you only care about protecting the Enron's and the other huge corporations, is misleading, at best.
As far as the war, it's going to be a two front thing for awhile. We need to finish up in Afghanistan, and we need to play serious catch-up at home. We were caught with our pants down because we are reactionary instead of thinking ahead. (Hmm, much like our infrastructure) Take flying...very few airports abroad care if your liquids are a certain size, or in a little baggy..why? They have the detection machinery to tell if a water bottle is a bomb. Have for years. They worked it in a little at a time, and kept it updated. We kept the same x-ray machines from the 70's and put the money into drug sniffing technology because catching kids with pot is more important that protecting us from hijackers, it seemed the more immediate threat. No one ever believes it can happen to you...until it happens to you.
I also appreciate the fact that this thread, and all it's pages...has remained fairly rational. After what's going on in the others, I could hug every single one of you for that, even the folks who don't agree with me

If there are 5000 insurgents, we want 25000 or more troops to tackle it.
So more troops, mean more security and less stress on our military.

Sure, I will answer the question.
I read all the reports I can find from any reputable source. Doesn't matter to me if they lean to the sissy side, or if they have brass balls on the get tuff side.
Just to name some of them that yall may recognize, bbcnews/foxnews/jpost/cnn/msnbc/reuters/our governemnt and our military.
And, as far as best news covered for middle east, Jpost/BBCnews does report on what the left side (censored/blackout) left out....
Most of the news providers get their strories from the other news sources. Jpost/BBCnews seems to lead the way.
Matter of fact, I posted a news article from BBCnews this morning.
Trigger, if you, Toker, and Hawg have a far left news source, you would like to share with us to monitor, I for one would be more than happy to check them out and go from there to establish if they are credible reporting actual events without throwing a spin in there and if so, I wouldn't mind linking breaking news to that source.
