Thread: Black gives way to blue

So my buddy came down yesterday to help me work on some electrical things around the house. He recommends that I pull down the newest Alice in Chains CD, Black gives way to blue, as it is good stuff

I was initially unenthusiastic because I can't stand rehashed content. I did pull it down and have been listening to it for the past couple of hours while I paint.

This CD is fantastic. The last three songs are gut wrenching if you were aware of the struggle Layne Staley had with drugs. The sound hasn't changed that much, and seems to be a lot of Jerry Cantrell, but retains the unique nasal harmonics that have been present all along.

Any of you have any reflections on it? If you were a fan back in the day, you might want to look into getting this. I definitely recommend it.
