Let's say a straight guy decided for shits and giggles he wanted to wear a dress....is it because he's straight he couldn't fight it?

ACLU are nothing but self-serving people doing nothing but promoting descrimination and division within our society.
In August, Rodriguez said she received a letter from the school stating that only boys could wear tuxedos. Rodriguez said she met with assistant Superintendent Ronald Holloway who told her he didn't see regulations about the issue in the student handbook.

But when she talked with Greer, she said he told her it was his "conviction" that Sturgis wouldn't appear in the yearbook in a tuxedo.

I say let her wear the tux along with a fake mustache and beard or maybe she can grow one or both.

Aaahhhh, but there is no rule that states what is required to be in a yearbook. No, it is the principal who sees it as his "conviction" not to let her photo be in the book. Not that is was against the rules, no, his personal conviction is what is the deciding factor. Fuck that, give her her photo in the book.

What do you want to bet there have been goofy pics in that yearbook before ?
Pictures that did not adhere to the dress code but were allowed for one reason or another ?
If she wants to wear a tux, the soggy ass old man that runs the school just needs to get a grip and realize this is NOT 1955 and stay the fuck out of the way.
The ACLU might often be a steaming pile of ____ but in this case there is no question that the young lady gets to wear a tux.
She is not asking to wear grunge or SM gear, simply a tux.

But there really is nothing for the general public to be outraged about.
This is a normal rearguard skirmish for the old-school values ( pun intended ) as the new wave pushes them back.

Old people and religious people are going to have to learn to deal with this.
For once I agree with you.

But when Sturgis — an honor student, trumpet player and goalie on the school's soccer team — wanted her senior photograph in a tuxedo used in the 2009-10 yearbook, school officials balked.
Tough time thinking that she can't read at a 12 grade level.

I don't understand why this is such a problem........... if she wants to wear a tux why not ?? In this day and age when kids emmulate Convicts by wearing their pants so their underwear is hanging out ( which tells other cons they want to have sex) why should anyone care if this girl actually wants to Dress Up in Formal wear ?? Political Correctness run Amuk I think .

So did this happen at a public school? If it did then I agree with Hawg and others that she should be able to wear what she wants in that yearbook. After all her parents are paying taxes into that school, so the the old fuck head can ram his convictions where the sun don't shine.
