Only ranked team(s) they play(ed) are Utah and BYU (who's win over OU isn't that impressive as OU falls out of the rankings).

Beat LSU in death valley, and potentially in line to beat Bama in the title game (most likely at #3)

Beat LSU, Virginia Tech and potentially able to beat Florida in the title game (most likely at #1)
Texas played Oklahoma state without dez bryant but still a decent win.
If TCU gets in with that schedule, that makes a statement that teams like them (TCU), Boise, Utah, etc... can get away with playing weak schedules and still have equal shot at the BCS title.
Is TCU talented enough to beat any of those teams listed? Maybe. Do they deserve a chance to play there, comparative to what other teams had to do during the season? IMO, they don't.
All this really could be remedied by a playoff.

The reason i defend teams like TCU, BSU, and any other "mid-major" is because none of the big boys will play them. TCU scheduled a home and home series with OU a few years back, but when TCU won one of them OU said never again. The power conference schools have nothing to gain and everything to lose by playing good teams from non-BCS conferences. If any team from the SEC, Big 10, Big 12 or Pac 10 go undefeated they make the title game unless there is some crazy occurrence like 2 other undefeated teams from BCS conferences, so why play a good team like TCU or BSU?

Re: ROLL TIDE ! ! ! !
Unfortunately for the big boys they have everything to lose and nothing to gain by playing BSU, TCU, etc. If you win out in a major conference after starting in the top 25, you go to a big bowl game, so scheduling a tough OOC is nothing but risk with no reward if you are established. For "major" teams that are rebuilding, or at the bottom of a big conference, playing a BSU or TCU guarantees TV time, so there is value. Its a shitty deal, if teams could look forward to a playoff I think you would see more big teams playing the TCUs of the world because it would help them prepare and wouldnt hinder their chances in the post-season.
