Do you always talk in the form of questions? Do you never give a definitive statement answer.

ALL elections are important when it comes to the idiots that we put in power to run/ruin our lives. People got a big 'ol boner to get Obama in office and trying to get McCain into office. Now those same people sit on their a** doing nothing, but yet will be complaining the loudest when their life becomes even more pitiful in the future.

    Happy?
I agree that elections are important but I was incredulous at your questioning why others don't feel the same about these elections as they did about the presidential elections. I understand that you're not a fan of Obama but trying to attribute voter apathy towards these lesser elections as some kind of shortcoming of Obama is a bit weak. Your views on voting don't alter the fact that the majority of people consider the electing of a president, especially under extraordinary circumstances, to be more important than electing a governer or member of the house.

Also, I'm curious as to why you don't heap scorn on the machine that brought Bush into office and of that that tried to elect McCain. Were they not equally responsible for the voter apathy?

    Re: Go Vote Today

And AGAIN I will state that they should care. They should be just as involved and interested in the Govenors/HOR election as they are for the presidential election, even more so IMO for the HOR/Senate where the more wide reaching issues are dealt with and they are the ones that tend to REALLY jack it up.

And finally, "You sure do read a lot into opinions and statements".

Notice the ""'s. Never said O'bama... and the most important part of my statement was APATHY.

Settle down chosen, there's no hostility in my posts. Perhaps I misread your posts and got ahead of myself.

I agree to an extent, chosen. First, turnout is always far lower in these type of elections but neither Deeds or Corzine illicited anywhere near the same type of energy that Obama did. Both were shit candidates, and when you have uninspiring shit candidates, the will to turn out is low. Whether you like Obama or not, you cannot deny he really energized his supporters and people turned out in record numbers. Should people always vote? Yes, but the reality is they don't. Apathy is a problem, I agree.

    Re: Go Vote Today

in fairness it depends on the place. If they had a local election here, i'd probably not show up. Not because i'm lazy, but because i'm not going to be living here for long, and thus my vote only would possibly hurt the people who actually are long-term residents in the town. (if that makes any sense)

The reason voter turn-out is low in state and national elections, imo, is because there aren't that many people that give a shit about politics. There were people around my age in 2008 that never cared about politics but were going to see Obama speak, go vote for him etc.
