Build credit without credit cards

Had a credit card for over six years now and paid less than $30 in intrest total. Buy your gas and dinner maybe a trip to walmart. Pay it off at the end of the month every month. Keep a low limit so you wont go overboard. I have good credit and virtually no debt.

I have a credit card. The only time I have used it is for house expenses when my folks didnt have the cash on hand to give it to me. I never use my credit card for personal expenses. I dont like spending money I dont have.

Keep in mind, any sort of payment you make regularly to a company that reports to one or more of the credit places will affect your credit.

The short answer is, always pay your bills. If you can't make the regular payment that month, send them something. Even $5 shows that you're at least trying to make payments, even if the usual amount is $100 a month. If you pay them nothing that month, it's going to look like you're trying to skip out on your debt.

I am one of those people that can not get a credit card with <25% intrest. :5
I've never owned a credit card because I have always tried to live within my means.
But this will bite me in the ass in 5 years or so when I want to buy a house.

Now I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that if you don't pay off EVERY LAST CENT of your balance when the bill comes around, the credit card companies are able to charge you interest on ALL OF IT. So my advice is to always pay everything and don't buy things you know you can't afford. :9

Debt is the result of people spending money they don't have, and then acting surprised when the bill collectors start calling.

Sometimes you can't help it - maybe you fucked up your arm, or your car needs a major repair. Those kinds of debts are just a fact of life.

But being in debt because you wanted to use that credit card to buy a new plasma TV and didn't think about how much that $3500 TV would really cost is just stupid and irresponsible. Unfortunately, most people are stupid and irresponsible... which gets us to where we are right now.
