Bobby Bowden to retire Tuesday.
Link
College football is losing a legend, like him or hate him you cant deny the impact he has had on the sport. Its a shame it has to end this way, with him having no home games left to give the home fans one last chance to send him off. Its pretty obvious at this point hes being forced out, I for one will miss the old fart.
Mickey Andrews on the other hand should be rolled around in barbed wire with Magic Johnson.

Re: Bobby Bowden to retire Tuesday.
As a life-long Nole fan and alumnus, it is hard to see him leave.....but like a woman with a fine rear end, watching him go isn't all bad either...the silver lining on this dark cloud is well received.
My only regret on his behalf is that he didnt see the writing on the wall a few years ago when the fan base reacted so violently against him working over the nepotism law to get his son the offensive coordinator job...that, coupled with Joe Mauer playing baseball instead of QB for the Noles was the beginning of the end of Bobby's career.
All the people complaining about him being forced out - it had become obvious to insiders that he had lost control over the program. He should have never agreed to the coach-in-waiting routine. That whole arrangement causes too many questions and doubts and everybody leaves every season wondering if this is the year...then Bobby hires Chuck Amato back to coach linebackers out of some twisted sense of personal loyalty and what happens? Our defense - our long-time bone crushing defense goes softer than Tebow's pecker at a sorority house.
Anyway - I could go on and on....but what's done, is blissfully done.
He will be missed but it was well past his time.
Name another profession where you get to keep your job for years after your prime even though the results you are producing are sub-par, if not terrible?
