It took extreme focus for the hunting aspects which is thought to the reason why men are so "one-sided" or single focused and have such difficult times multi-tasking. Women are though to be much better at the multi-tasking roles since that's what they performed from very early on. Now with further brain composition research and comparisons it becomes more apparent that the brain evolved to support such theories.

Experiments to test these things are not exactly ethical... (Imagine separating newborns from families and reassigning them to experimental groups... not OK).
