If they were "better" than the real deal, I'd take robotic limbs in a heartbeat.
There was an article posted recently by a paralympics athlete that had her legs amuptated below the knee. She uses those "cheetah" legs when running and can now outrun REGULAR athletes. The technology is very nearly better than the real thing. And when she wants to go out on the town she has some legs that are so close to real looking that you damn near can't tell. Not quite the same as this, but goes to show that soon, very soon, technology will surpass real flesh and blood. And when it does, why NOT become cyborgs?

Also think about the neuro implant tech that I've been kinda talking about. There have been cases of fully paralyzed people being plugged into computers from the base of their brain, and by doing so they can talk... control the computer and do so much by just concentrating on the task at hand. Yes I'd like it for the convenience, but look at how easy it would be for some people to communicate with others.
