Jason, I am not saying that I couldn't control and contain a 10 year old. The question is can I, you, or these officers do it without either hurting said 10 year old, or allowing said 10 year old to hurt himself. If they would have treated him like a man and just taken his ass down odds are they injure him. If however they tried to take it easy on him it is possible, maybe even probable, that he whacks at least one of them with a pipe. Sure, we know you are working out, so no 10 year old is going to hurt you, but maybe these cops weren't as tough as use, so they decided to subdue him for his and their safety.

Unless you have a bad heart condition getting shot with a Taser is probably one of the safest things a police officer can do to you when it comes to use of force. Everyone complained about nightsticks and handguns so they got Tasers, now people whine about that. I would much rather be incapacitated for 5 seconds than recovering in a hospital or dead from an ass beating or a gunshot. If everything works out and they were justified, no big deal. Maybe this kid won't fuck up anymore.

And just yesterday I was talking about having a cane with a taser on the end of it if/when i get old. Grand-kids out of control. Taze! 10 Year old bashing my windows in? Taze!

This kid doubtfully suffered any serious harm, and it took care of him with the quickness. Prolly shreiked like a brat. I'm from Colorado, and live only 40 miles away from Pueblo. I say Good Fucking Job!

If I ever have children I plan to make them wear remote control shock-collars when they are not in their pens.

I think the whole reason this issue comes up is that Tasers are quite dangerous, they are not a non-lethal weapon just a lot less lethal. And police officers seem more and more willing to use them to resolve situations that would formerly have been handled by the police officers talking to the problem individual. Whether that was the issue in this case I do not know we get very few details, but tasers aren't toys they kill a fair number of people.
Typically people with pre-existing conditions. You shock enough people, and eventually someone's gonna die because it's going to fuck with their particular body's apparently more-delicate-than-usual electrical "configuration."

But then again, I'm pretty sure getting beat in the head with a nightstick hard enough to subdue you, or being tackled by someone probably a foot taller and a hundred pounds heavier is going to be more likely to cause significant harm to you than getting briefly shocked by a taser.

Just consider how many people shot by the 9mm's police carry die, they are actually a very significant minority. Yeah a taser is a lot safer still and has much less chance of inflicting a permanent diability but they are not the answer to every problem. The intended use for a taser is when there is significant risk to the officers, nearby people, or suspect. In this particular case we don't know the details, they may have done everything right or they may have just been lazy.
True enough. But I'd say popping the little shit with a taser is probably safer for him than having two full grown men tackle him.

Of course, in some cases, it should be the parents that are publicly beaten with a stick.

Maybe this will "shock" the boy into better behaviour, if not, well, somebody needs to live in our prisons.

all in fun guys, don't light the torches
The best thing is............ If you are serious, I agree 100%........And if you are kidding? I still agree 100%.
