Found this on the Hard Forum - thought I'd bring it here:
If you’re curious about how Google’s information machine is fed, Royal Pingdom has you covered. Remember that when you blow through that EULA and click “I agree,” you’ve given the machine permission to save your data in one form or another.
And for those who are interested - here's a video conversation (published in March 2009) between Charlie Rose and Eric Schmidt (CEO Google) -- which brings up some interesting points on where things are headed.

Google doesn't know shit about you when compared to Visa.
I use my debit card for everything......Visa knows where I grocery shop, how much I spend on gas, whether I buy local,or shop in the interwebs....not only that, they know when I am using it.....they can pretty much plot out your daily routine, including when you probably sleep....everything.

It's just a fact of life,now.

On a similar note of being tethered to the system, I started pondering how many RFID chips we humans carry on our person on any given day. from car keys, to credit cards and ID badges, I counted 8 for me personally. And that doesn't include electronics, or clothing.

And I could only imagine tracking her if she ever got lost......from poop pile to poop pile checking out the locals....then to the park to play with the kids (she absolutely LOVES kids)....the to the nearest adult to beg for a treat (she is convinced we all carry them around)....then nap time. It would be like one of those Family Circus cartoons with the little trail going everywhere.

Re: How Google collects data about you and the Internet
My take on the interview was:
-Google will try to save the earth by using it's technology.
-The world will end with known factors.
-Politicians are great if you're democratic.
-America needs to step out of the way and let other countries have a stake in tommorrows future.
-Blah, blah, blah, technology in the future.
-You will have access to everything.
-There is a need to know everything.
