I don't think alot of people in here quite understand the potential that climate change could have on us. I'm speaking specifically of climate change as if it is caused in majority by humans. Everything that we cause seems to occur at an exponential level. This is a bad thing because time is needed for adaptibility by all living things, by speeding anything up we remove the much needed time. Again, I'm speaking only of climate change caused directly by us.

The Chinese are tapping Our oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Cuba. IF they have an oil spill WHO is going to clean it up ?? The Chinese ?? LMAO SURE SOME DAY ! We Will !! In that case why are we Not drilling Our Own oil ?? Because of some Environmental Whacko syas its Bad ...........
We have not built a New nuclear plant since the 1970's yet the plants we Already have ........ haven't had a Melt Down ! Nuclear power is Cheap puts out No CO2 and is Safe but we don't build them because they have been designated by some Environmental Whacko that they are BAD ! Why is that ?? Because all these things do not Help Their Movement !

I never said that building nuclear power plants was a bad idea. If we do go that route, we need to allow the fuel rods to be enriched far more than they currently are to provide long lasting power with limited effect. Our problem is that the current rods are only enriched to like 2% so we have to constantly swap them out, creating radioactive waste. EVERYONE knows thats bad. Even if we use like 50% enriched, then its lasting a SHIT TON longer than it is currently and we will have less radioactive waste. Problem is, the government in both Republican and Democratic control do not like giving nuclear power plants anything above 3 or 4% enrichment due to the possibility of creating a nuclear device.

But in the end Bruce, your arguing the political ramifications of AIGW, not the scientific existence of it. The political ramifications are an entirely separate issue from whether or not AIGW is real.

I'd say it's because they're indoctrinated with all that "die killing infidels and you go to heaven with a lot of eager virgins!" crap when they're little more than any sense of nihilism.

I don't think anyone that doesn't believe in an afterlife would be so willing to just throw away their life for what amounts to nothing.
