Thread: Stem Cell Research

What we really need out of this thread are action items. In other words, what the f#@$ do we do today to keep ourselves alive using this gravy train?

Run to the local harverster, or are we too late?

I support research and progression in treating human illness.
I do think there is potential for mis-use. What was that forum law arreo, yeah heres where we break out the nazi word... I think some could desire to create super humans and abuse the technology. The benefits of this are too great to not explore it. Like anything humans must be responsible, this level of responsibility varies between people.

Some celebrities believe that promoting this will make miracle cures for all diseases. Actively pursuing this in an ethical manner is something most americans should support.

If you know people....you can get some marrow aspirations harvested, expanded, and frozen. Kind of like walk disney freezing his head or whatever.

But you're right. the clock's ticking. Once you're past 40....sorry....but you're worthless.

I fully support all forms of stem cell research.

Yeah, you can get marrow and other stem cells harvested from your body, but the one thing no one has mentioned is the cost of storing them. Im sure its not impossible to afford, but it cant be cheap. How much does it run you to store your son's BD? I plan to hopefully do the exact same thing with my future kids, as long as its not bank breaking. Medical breakthroughs are happening everyday. They are actually on the verge of being able to grow artificial organs by using stem cells, though it wont be perfected for decades probably. Yes, you would have to use your own stem cells to grow the organs because of the chances of organ rejection. Good food for thought though.

they've grown organs already....tried it on frogs. They work.
